Meta, the tech giant behind Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has taken a remarkable step in the world of artificial intelligence (A.I.) by publicly releasing its latest A.I. technology, LLaMA. The incident raised concerns about the misuse of such powerful technology and prompted Stanford to remove the A.I. system from the internet.

Despite the risks, Meta remains committed to open-sourcing its A.I. technology, emphasizing the advantages of a collaborative and inclusive approach. The company believes that encouraging widespread adoption of its tools will level the playing field and secure its position in the face of competition from OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google.
